Berries: The Ultimate Superfoods
Berries are small fruits that primarily grow in the forests of colder climates.
In Israel, they are grown mainly in the Golan Heights and are available in markets as fresh, frozen, dried, or as juices.
This family includes red and black raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, currants, Goji berries, and even cherries.
In natural nutrition, berries are considered Superfoods.
A superfood is a nutrient-dense food that provides vitamins and minerals in quantities far exceeding other foods, thus serving as a tool for healing and disease prevention.
The high antioxidant content in berries not only prevents disease but can often repair existing damage, particularly in small blood vessels (capillaries).
This significantly improves conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and hypertension.
Bioflavonoids: These are the phytochemicals that give berries their deep blue, purple, and red colors.
